Storytelling
by-and-for Adults at
a Cafe Coffee Day Monday 2 January 2017, at 6pm. Cafe Coffee Day Square, Khader Nawaz Khan Road,
Nungambakkam. Topic of the Day: "New Beginnings." This would be a round of
the Chennai Storytelling Contest (adult English language section). Days and times of additional rounds in Jan 2017
would be announced here soon. The
winner would be announced after the final round, on Mon 6 Feb 2017, at CCD
Square. Contestants are required
to attend at least 2 rounds, and to tell at least 2 stories: 1) A Personal-experience
story, and 2) A story of any other
kind. Event
Format: The Storytelling Host would tell a story, and then there
would be an open mic (ten minute time-limit per teller). Any type of story could
be told, including stories about personal-experiences, historical stories,
grandmother stories, and original creative stories. One could tell, or just
listen. Storytelling is a form of
public speaking that sometimes involves acting (when one acts-out
characters). This
monthly series (usually on the 1st Monday of the month) is in its 4th year.

informal meetings of the Chennai Storytelling Association. (All are welcome!) Admission: Rs
