Regarding the Stories

There would be a mix of types of stories, such

as animal fables, grandmother stories (including

folk tales told by members of Chennai's sea-fishing

communities), fairy tales, episodes of epics, myths,

historical stories, and personal experiences -- all

on the theme of Beach and Ocean Eco-Systems.

Some storytellers are telling the "Story of Amaiyur"

(the history of Chennai's beaches, the Place of

Turtles), including the story of Sagarika the Turtle.

Some are telling the "Story of Seydu Samuthiram

(the Ocean of the Bridge between India and Sri Lanka)",

including the story from the Ramayana epic of how the

Squirrel helped make the land bridge.

Both of these stories end with debates between

imaginary characters regarding what might happen

in the future.
